Hoshiarpur (Punjab), April 7, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a sharp attack on opposition parties during a massive rally in Hoshiarpur, accusing the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Congress of “looting Punjab” and working in collusion.
Mann alleged that the Akali Dal had “looted Punjab with both hands” during its tenure and claimed that its leaders were driven by vested interests. Making a serious charge, he said that drugs were allegedly transported in government vehicles with red beacons during the Akali regime.
In a personal jibe at SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Chief Minister said, “People call him a fool, but I call him ‘closed-minded’ with no understanding of Punjab’s interests.”
Targeting former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Mann claimed that the Congress leader visited Punjab only a few times during his five-year tenure. He further alleged that both Congress and the Akali Dal had a tacit understanding and never exposed each other’s corruption.
The Chief Minister also said the Congress is currently grappling with internal conflicts and lacks coordination among its leadership.
Appealing to the public, Mann urged people to support the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for a better future, asserting that his government is using taxpayers’ money for public welfare, including electricity, healthcare, and education, unlike previous regimes which, he alleged, “only filled their coffers.”
