Sri Muktsar Sahib :The Government of India has launched a special campaign to discover, document, and preserve rare and old manuscripts available at various locations under the ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’.
Providing details, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal, IAS, stated that the mission aims to safeguard valuable historical manuscripts, documents, and drafts that reflect India’s rich cultural and intellectual heritage. He said that once identified, information about these manuscripts will be uploaded on the Gyan Bharatam App to create a comprehensive digital repository.
He informed that dedicated survey teams have been constituted in the district to carry out this task. These teams will locate such manuscripts and ensure that their details are properly documented and uploaded on the app. SDM Gurkirandeep Singh Sidhu has been appointed as the nodal officer for the mission in the district.
Appealing to the public, the Deputy Commissioner urged residents to actively support the initiative. He requested that if any rare manuscripts are available with individuals or in institutions such as libraries, Sri Gurdwara Sahibs, temples, deras, or other places, the information should be shared promptly.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that public participation is crucial for the success of this important initiative aimed at preserving the nation’s invaluable heritage.
