SIT to probe 14 Punjabis’ UK travel on invalid visas

Mohali (Punjab), April 29, 2026: Punjab Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case of 14 Punjabis who allegedly travelled to the United Kingdom using invalid visas.
The SIT will be headed by Richa Agnihotri, with Zorawar Singh and Geeta as members. According to officials, the group had departed from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport.
Following the incident, an FIR has been registered at the State Crime Police headquarters in Mohali. The SIT will investigate how the individuals managed to travel on invalid visas, identify those responsible, and examine any possible network or facilitation behind the case.
