Haryana CM Nayab Saini in Nawanshahr: Punjab–Haryana bound by one culture despite borders

Pojewal (Nawanshahr), Punjab, May 1, 2026: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Punjab and Haryana may be geographically distinct, but both states remain deeply united by a shared cultural and spiritual heritage.
He was addressing the 24th Barsi Samagam of Satguru Brahmanand Ji Maharaj Bhuriwale held at Pojewal in Nawanshahr district of Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that the traditions, values, and way of life in both states are closely interlinked and strongly influenced by saints whose teachings transcend borders and generations. He added that spiritual leaders represent humanity as a whole and embody the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.”
On the occasion, CM Saini announced ₹11 lakh financial assistance to support initiatives promoting girls’ education, highlighting the importance of empowering women through learning.
He noted that institutions inspired by Satguru Brahmanand Ji Maharaj Bhuriwale continue to play an important role in girls’ education and social welfare. He also said the Haryana government is working to ensure better access to higher education, particularly for women.
The Chief Minister praised the saint’s teachings on healthy living and efforts against drug abuse, urging youth to stay connected with cultural values while embracing modern progress.
Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, former MP Avinash Rai Khanna, and several other dignitaries attended the event.
