BJP Leader Sukhwinder Bindra Receives Death Threat, ₹5 Crore Ransom Demanded
Ludhiana, May 1, 2026: Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Member (NISD) and Special Invitee/Member (NCCDR), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (Government of India), BJP Punjab In-charge for District Malerkotla, and former State Chairperson of the Punjab Youth Development Board (Punjab Government), has received a death threat along with a demand for ₹5 crore as ransom.
Providing details, Sukhwinder Bindra stated that he received a threatening letter demanding ₹5 crore, with a warning of being killed if the amount is not paid. Along with the letter, a small plastic bottle containing a suspicious liquid—suspected to be harmful—was also found.
Following this, a complaint has been lodged by Sukhwinder Bindra at Police Station Dugri, Ludhiana. The threatening letter and the suspicious bottle have been handed over to the police, and an investigation into the matter has been initiated.
It is noteworthy that over the past 4–5 years, Sukhwinder Singh Bindra has also received several threatening calls and ransom letters demanding money.
