Sangrur ( Punjab), May 9, 2026:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday launched the ‘CM Meri Rasoi Yojana’ in Sangrur, aimed at expanding welfare support for nearly 40 lakh families across the state.
Under the scheme, ration kits will be distributed four times a year to help prevent child malnutrition and strengthen food security for vulnerable households.

Highlighting the government’s ongoing welfare agenda, the Chief Minister said that several flagship initiatives are already being implemented, including free electricity, the ‘CM Health Scheme’, and the ‘Maa-Dheeyan Samman Yojana’, along with assured daytime power supply and canal irrigation water for farmers.
He stated that these measures are aimed at improving the standard of living for all sections of society.
From village Sattoj, the government also initiated a major infrastructure project to make Punjab “pole-free” by shifting overhead electricity wires underground, marking a significant step toward urban and rural infrastructure modernization.
The Chief Minister further reiterated that the government has introduced strict legislation in sacrilege-related cases, including provisions for life imprisonment and a ₹50 lakh fine, asserting that earlier governments had only politicized such sensitive issues.
He added that the administration remains committed to preserving religious sanctity and maintaining communal harmony.
The government described these initiatives as part of its broader vision to build a “Rangla Punjab” through sustained development and welfare-oriented governance.
