Chandigarh, June 12, 2026: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Friday said that the Punjab Government's Easy Jamabandi Portal and Easy Registry initiative have significantly simplified access to land-related services, reducing citizens' dependence on middlemen and helping eliminate corruption in revenue offices.
Appealing to the public to make full use of the digital platform, Sandhwan urged educated youth, government officials, panchayat members, sarpanches and public representatives to spread awareness about the initiative so that more people can access land records without paying bribes or making repeated visits to government offices.
The Speaker said that nearly 40 lakh Punjabis earlier had to visit Patwarkhanas multiple times or stand in long queues at Sewa Kendras to obtain copies of their land records. The cumbersome process often led to delays, harassment and opportunities for corruption.
"With the launch of the Easy Jamabandi Portal, there is no need to visit a Patwari office, wait in queues or pay any bribe. Citizens can now obtain certified copies of their Jamabandi from the comfort of their homes," Sandhwan said.
Highlighting the key features of the portal, he said the government has enabled five major online land-related services. These include Jamabandi delivery through WhatsApp, online mutation (Intkal) services, digital Rapat entries, Fard Badar facilities for correcting clerical errors, and a Land Alert Subscription service.
The Land Alert facility is expected to be particularly beneficial for property owners and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), as it sends instant notifications through WhatsApp or email whenever any attempt is made to alter or tamper with a registered land record, enabling owners to take timely legal action.
Sandhwan said citizens can access these services through the Easy Jamabandi online portal, by calling the state helpline 1076, or by visiting their nearest Sewa Kendra for assistance.
Reiterating the government's commitment to transparency, the Speaker said the initiative reflects Punjab's zero-tolerance approach towards corruption and its efforts to bring citizen-centric governance directly to people's doorsteps through technology-driven reforms.
