The Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, A. Sreenivas, IAS, today held a comprehensive review meeting with all Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers of the State through video conferencing to assess the final preparations for the Pre-Draft Special Intensive Revision (SIR) activities scheduled to commence from June 15, 2026.
During the meeting, Sreenivas reviewed district-wise readiness and emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and flawless execution of the revision exercise. He directed all District Election Officers to ensure that the electoral roll revision process is carried out in a transparent, inclusive, and time-bound manner, in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission.
The Chief Electoral Officer reviewed the deployment of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), training arrangements, logistical support, availability of required forms, and public awareness measures undertaken by the districts. He instructed officials to maintain close coordination with field-level functionaries and ensure that all preparatory activities are completed before the commencement of the exercise.
Sreenivas stressed that the Special Intensive Revision is a significant initiative aimed at improving the accuracy and integrity of electoral rolls by facilitating the inclusion of all eligible citizens, removal of duplicate or ineligible entries, and correction of existing voter details. He urged district administrations to extend full support to the field staff and address any operational challenges promptly.
The Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers apprised the Chief Electoral Officer of the preparedness status in their respective districts and assured full compliance with the prescribed timelines and procedures. The CEO expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made and called upon all election officials to work with dedication to ensure the successful conduct of the revision programme.
The meeting concluded with a detailed discussion on monitoring mechanisms, grievance redressal measures, and strategies to maximize public participation in the revision process. Senior officers of the Election Department were also present during the video conference.
