2003-batch IPS officer appointed as NIA Inspector General

New Delhi, June 17, 2026: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has appointed senior IPS officer Sundarraj P as Inspector General (IG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA), India’s premier counter-terrorism investigation agency.
Sundarraj P, a 2003-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been cleared for central deputation and will assume his new role in the NIA.
In an official communication issued on June 16, the Ministry of Home Affairs directed the Chhattisgarh government to relieve the officer immediately to enable him to take charge of his new assignment without delay.
