RSS, Punjab BJP hold key strategy meeting in Chandigarh ahead of 2027 Assembly Elections

Chandigarh, June 17, 2026: Senior leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held an important meeting in Chandigarh to discuss preparations for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
The meeting, which reportedly continued throughout the day, was attended by prominent Punjab BJP leaders, including former state BJP president Sunil Jakhar and senior leader Kewal Singh Dhillon, along with RSS functionaries.
Sources said discussions focused on the BJP’s strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls, organisational strengthening, and political developments in the state. The possibility of an alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was also discussed during the deliberations.
Senior RSS leader Arun Kumar was present at the meeting, while BJP national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santosh also participated in the discussions.
The meeting is being seen as a significant political exercise as the BJP and RSS begin groundwork for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections amid evolving political equations in the state.
