New Delhi, June 23, 2026: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has launched a sharp attack on the self-styled “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP), accusing it of attempting to create instability and spread misinformation amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the NEET examination.
The remarks come as protests continue in several parts of the country over allegations of irregularities and paper leaks in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), one of India’s largest medical entrance examinations.
Speaking during an interview, Pradhan alleged that the group was acting as the “B-team” of disruptive forces seeking to create chaos and undermine public confidence in the country’s institutions.
“The people who have been repeatedly rejected by the public in the democratic process are now appearing in different forms and trying to target the education system,” the Union Minister said.
He further claimed that certain elements were attempting to exploit student concerns for political purposes and accused them of spreading confusion at a time when authorities were working to ensure a fair examination process.
Statement Comes Amid Continuing NEET Controversy
Pradhan’s comments come a day after more than 2.2 million medical aspirants reportedly appeared for the rescheduled NEET examination conducted across the country.
The examination had earlier come under scrutiny following allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities, leading to widespread protests and demands for accountability from student groups and activists.
The “Cockroach Janata Party,” which has gained attention on social media and during protests, has been vocal in demanding action over the controversy and has called for the Education Minister’s resignation.
In view of the controversy, authorities implemented extensive security measures during the re-examination process.
, Officials said the test was conducted under heightened surveillance with the support of state police forces and security agencies to prevent any disruption and ensure the integrity of the examination process.
The Union Government has maintained that it is committed to protecting the interests of students and ensuring transparency in national-level examinations.
The NEET controversy continues to generate political debate, with opposition groups and student organisations demanding further accountability, while the Centre insists that corrective measures have been taken to safeguard the examination system.
