Amritsar (Punjab), July 5, 2026: A Panthic gathering convened by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on the occasion of the Foundation Day of Sri Akal Takht Sahib unanimously endorsed the implementation of the June 15 Hukamnama issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib and reaffirmed a resolution declaring Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as "Panth Dhokhi" (betrayer of the Panth) and "Panth Virodhi" (anti-Panth).
Addressing the media after the gathering at Manji Sahib Diwan Hall in the Golden Temple complex, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said the Sikh community had unanimously resolved to implement the June 15 edict in its entirety.

Dhami said Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji established Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the principles of Miri-Piri, making it the supreme temporal and judicial authority of the Sikh community.
He said representatives of Nihang Singh organisations, Sikh seminaries, Kar Sewa groups, farmer organisations and several religious and social bodies participated in the gathering and reaffirmed their allegiance to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
"The sanctity and supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib are non-negotiable. History has shown that anyone who deviated from Sikh principles ultimately had to answer before Sri Akal Takht Sahib," Dhami said.

He further announced that a statewide religious outreach campaign (Wahir) would commence on July 24, marking Miri-Piri Day. Led by the Jathedars of the Sikh Takhts, the campaign will travel across villages and constituencies to engage Sikh youth and constitute local committees aimed at strengthening Panthic unity.
Responding to a question regarding the upcoming film on Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra, Dhami said Khalra's martyrdom remains a significant chapter in Sikh history and that his sacrifice in the cause of human rights would always be remembered.

Concluding his address, the SGPC President extended greetings to the Sikh community on the Foundation Day of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and appealed to the Sangat to remain united under the guidance of Sri Akal Takht Sahib while following the teachings and principles of the Sikh Gurus.
