Chandigarh, July 6, 2026: Punjab Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Monday dismissed speculation of factionalism within the party, asserting that the Congress remains united and that all senior leaders will soon be seen together on a common platform.
Responding to questions about recent meetings organised by the camp of former Punjab Chief Minister and MP Charanjit Singh Channi in Morinda and Mohali, Warring rejected suggestions that the gatherings reflected internal divisions or rebellion within the state unit.
"There is no split in the Punjab Congress. The meeting held in Morinda was not a meeting in POK that it should be turned into such a major issue," Warring remarked, rejecting what he described as exaggerated political and media speculation.
He clarified that the meetings were aimed at strengthening the Congress organisation in Punjab and should not be viewed as signs of dissent.
"Such meetings are being held to make the Congress stronger in the state. They are part of the party's organisational activities and not an indication of any rebellion," he said.
The Punjab Congress chief expressed confidence that the party's unity would soon become evident, stating that all senior Congress leaders would share the same stage within the next one or two days.
"People and party workers will soon witness our unity. All senior leaders will be seen together on one platform very shortly," Warring said.
He also took exception to what he called speculative reporting by a section of the media, urging it to refrain from publishing stories based on unnamed sources about alleged infighting within the party.
"We are presenting the facts ourselves. Everything is fine within the Punjab Congress, and reports of internal conflict based on anonymous sources should stop," he added.
