216 meritorious students receive Rs 4.32 Lakh scholarships, Fruit saplings under 'Sarbat Da Bhala Student Welfare Scheme'
Faridkot, July 25, 2026: As many as 216 meritorious and needy students from 96 schools across the Faridkot, Bathinda and Sri Muktsar Sahib zone were awarded scholarships worth ₹4.32 lakh under the 'Sarbat Da Bhala Student Welfare Scheme' at an impressive function held at Dasmesh Dental College, Faridkot.
The scholarship distribution programme was organised by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle in collaboration with Care One Care All (Australia). Along with scholarship cheques, the students were also presented with fruit-bearing saplings to promote environmental conservation.
Project Coordinator Dr. Gurpreet Singh said the beneficiaries were selected through a written examination followed by interviews. The event was attended by Dr. Inderjit Kaur, President of the All India Pingalwara Charitable Trust, Amritsar, as the chief guest, while Faridkot Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba (IAS) graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
The programme commenced with the rendition of the Gurbani shabad "Ghal Khaye Kichh Hathahu Dei, Nanak Rah Pachhane Sei" by Gurpreet Kaur and her team. Welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. Avininderpal Singh encouraged students to remain disciplined and strive for excellence in life.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Inderjit Kaur stressed that environmental conservation and noble thinking are the true assets of students. She urged children to protect water, air and the environment, avoid the use of plastic and polythene, and adopt eco-friendly practices. She also highlighted the humanitarian services being rendered by the Pingalwara Trust and distributed free awareness literature among students and teachers.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba motivated the students to set ambitious goals, work hard with determination and strive to reach the highest levels of success.
Jatinderpal Singh, Co-founder and Life Trustee of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, elaborated on the organisation's educational initiatives and advised students to utilise the scholarship amount judiciously. Gurcharan Singh also addressed the gathering on the theme "Big Goals, Bigger Achievements", inspiring students to dream big and remain committed to their aspirations.
Among those present were Pratap Singh, Dr. Gursewak Singh, Director of Dasmesh Dental Institutions, Swarnjit Singh, Dr. M.K. Sunil, Principal of Dasmesh Dental College, Pawan Sharma of Care One Care All (Australia), Amandeep Singh Baba, and Gurnam Singh.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Gursewak Singh, who acknowledged the contributions of all dignitaries, organisers and volunteers. He also appreciated the efforts of Kuldeep Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Principal Maninder Kaur, Navneet Singh, Dr. Gurjinder Singh, Bir Singh, Simranjit Kaur, Jujhar Singh, Dr. Tarun Kumar and Gurmeet Singh for making the event a success.
