Over 53 Lakh Beneficiaries to Gain

Chandigarh, July 28, 2026: Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh Bittu on Monday announced that the Central Government has approved the establishment of three new Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals in Punjab.
According to Bittu, the new hospitals will be set up in Lalru, Rajpura and Malerkotla, expanding healthcare facilities for insured workers and their families in the state.
He said the decision will benefit over 11.73 lakh insured employees and more than 53.75 lakh beneficiaries, providing them with improved access to quality healthcare and enhanced social security.
Describing the move as another major initiative of the Narendra Modi-led government, Bittu said the approval marks a significant step towards strengthening Punjab’s healthcare infrastructure and ensuring better medical services for the state’s workforce.
