Rakhi 2026: Ferozepur Postal Division offers free home pickup, special booking counters set up
Ferozepur, August 2026: Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, the India Post, Ferozepur Division, has introduced special facilities to make sending Rakhis safer, easier and more convenient for customers and ensure their timely delivery.
Superintendent Ravi Kumar said customers sending 10 to 20 or more Rakhis at a time can avail themselves of the free home pickup facility. On receiving a request, a postal team will visit the customer’s residence, collect the Rakhi packet, complete the booking formalities and issue a receipt. Customers can also make payments online or through QR code.
For safe and secure packaging, special waterproof Rakhi envelopes and sturdy Rakhi boxes have been made available. These specially designed packing materials help protect Rakhis from damage during the rainy season. Special Rakhi envelopes priced at Rs 15, Rs 20 and Rs 50, in different sizes, are available along with dedicated Rakhi boxes.
The Postal Department has also provided online tracking through Speed Post, enabling customers to track their Rakhi consignments and stay informed about their delivery status.
Ravi Kumar said India Post continues to be a reliable, safe and economical means of sending Rakhis. He added that Rakhi bookings have been witnessing a steady increase this year as well, reflecting the public’s continued confidence in postal services.
For the convenience of customers, special Rakhi booking counters have been set up at major post offices under the Ferozepur Division. These counters will remain open until August 28, 2026, including on Sundays and gazetted holidays, from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
The Ferozepur Postal Division has appealed to citizens to book their Rakhis well in advance and make use of the special facilities to ensure that the love and affection symbolised by Raksha Bandhan reach their loved ones safely and on time.
