Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu directed officials of all concerned departments to ensure the prompt and effective resolution of traders’ grievances on a priority basis.
The Deputy Commissioner, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Mandeep Kaur, chaired a special review meeting with traders of the district to discuss their issues and monitor the progress made in resolving their complaints under the Punjab State Traders Commission.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Harbans Singh, SDM Fazilka Jagraj Singh, Chairman, Fazilka Assembly Constituency Traders Commission, Lavish Chawla, besides senior officials from the Police Department, Municipal Corporation/Council and other concerned departments.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various issues raised by the trading community, including the installation and functioning of CCTV cameras, police patrolling, parking arrangements, cleanliness in the city, sewerage-related problems and other civic and security concerns.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to take immediate and concrete steps to resolve the complaints and ensure that traders do not face unnecessary inconvenience in carrying out their business activities.
She categorically stated that any negligence or delay in addressing genuine grievances would not be tolerated and instructed the departments concerned to maintain close coordination for timely disposal of pending issues.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the meeting that a large number of complaints pertaining to the district had already been resolved, while the remaining grievances were also being taken up on priority and would be addressed at the earliest.
She reiterated that the district administration remained committed to providing a safe, clean and business-friendly environment to the trading community and ensuring that genuine concerns of traders are resolved efficiently and within the stipulated timeframe.
