A spiritually uplifting three-day Gurmat Samagam was held at the Guru Nanak Mission Society of Atlanta from July 31 to August 2, 2026, with the active participation of the local Sikh community. The event was marked by the presence of former Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh and former Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Sultan Singh, whose addresses inspired the congregation with messages rooted in Sikh philosophy and Gurmat.
The distinguished Sikh scholars shared their spiritual insights and urged the sangat to remain firmly connected with the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, emphasizing the values of humility, service, unity and adherence to Sikh principles.
The three-day congregation witnessed an overwhelming response from devotees across the Atlanta area, making the event a memorable spiritual gathering for the Sikh community.
Giani Raghbir Singh is widely respected for rendering 36 years of continuous service at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, before assuming the office of Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. During his tenure, he was known for upholding the traditions, dignity and institutional authority of the supreme temporal seat of the Sikhs.
His address also recalled the importance of maintaining Sikh values and Panthic discipline in contemporary times.
