Amritsar (Punjab), August 18, 2026: Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj has congratulated Southall-based Sikh of Punjabi origin Arshdeep Singh Dang on attaining the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the UK Royal Air Force (RAF).
The Jathedar also extended his congratulations to Arshdeep Singh’s parents, Jagdeep Singh and Gagandeep Kaur, describing the achievement as a matter of pride for the Sikh community.
Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said it was particularly significant that a Sikh had attained such a senior rank in the UK Air Force after a long gap, noting that the achievement came after the Second World War.
He said it was even more encouraging that Arshdeep Singh and his family, despite living abroad, remained closely connected with Sikh traditions and the Punjabi language.
The Akal Takht Jathedar said Sikhs across the world had reached prominent positions by following the principles taught by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji — Kirat Karo, Naam Japo and Vand Chhako — and added that Arshdeep Singh’s achievement had made the entire Sikh community proud.
He urged Sikh youth to take inspiration from Arshdeep Singh and pursue excellence through quality education, dedication and hard work.
Referring to the teachings of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Gurbani, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said people should continuously strive to move forward in life rather than look back, and encouraged the younger generation to follow this principle in their personal and professional journeys.
