RPF arrests proclaimed offender after six months in 2022 Railway rice theft case
Ferozepur, August 24, 2026: The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Ferozepur, has arrested a proclaimed offender who had allegedly been evading arrest for nearly six months in connection with a 2022 case involving theft of rice from the railway premises. The accused has been identified as Sagar, son of Malkit Singh.
RPF SHO Nawal Singh said that a case had been registered in 2022 against Sagar and some of his associates in connection with the alleged theft of rice from the railway.
According to the SHO, Sagar had remained absconding for around six months and had also failed to appear before the court in the case. The court had subsequently issued arrest warrants against him, but he continued to evade arrest. Acting on a specific tip-off, an RPF team conducted a raid at the accused's residence and apprehended him.
The arrested accused will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings. He is likely to be sent to judicial custody following the court proceedings.
