  Chandigarh, August 28, 2026 — Jasvir Singh Garhi has officially tendered his resignation from the post of Chairman of the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes.
  
  In a formal resignation letter submitted to V.K. Meena, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, Government of Punjab, Garhi stated that he stepped down from his position on the afternoon of August 26. He requested the department to accept his resignation with immediate effect.
