Kuldeep Dhaliwal launches sharp attack on BJP over ED action, says ‘AAP is neither afraid nor will it be’

Amritsar (Punjab), September 2, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab chief spokesperson and Ajnala MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Central government over the Enforcement Directorate (ED) action, alleging that central investigative agencies were being used to target and defame AAP leaders in Punjab.
Addressing a press conference, Dhaliwal alleged that the BJP was misusing central agencies against AAP leaders in Punjab.
He claimed that a similar pattern had been followed in Delhi, where AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain were allegedly targeted in different cases through the ED and kept in jail for extended periods.
Dhaliwal claimed that the “truth eventually came out” and the AAP leaders subsequently received relief.
He alleged that the BJP, which he claimed had no strong political base in Punjab, was now attempting to target AAP leaders through the ED. He further alleged that conspiracies were being hatched to implicate Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other party leaders in different cases.
Dhaliwal said the ED had written to the Punjab Police seeking legal action in the matter. According to him, the Punjab Police responded that the documents and chats provided by the central agency were not clearly readable.
He said the concerned ED officer was therefore asked to visit the Punjab Police headquarters and provide the relevant evidence and documents in person.
Dhaliwal claimed that despite being asked to bring the evidence, no ED official had reached the Punjab Police headquarters with the documents either on Tuesday or Wednesday.
He questioned why the ED was repeatedly seeking legal action while, according to him, failing to provide clear and readable evidence to the state police.
Dhaliwal described the entire episode as an attempt to defame AAP leaders and said the party had remained “standing like a rock” despite several of its senior leaders being jailed in the past.
“AAP is neither afraid nor will it be scared,” Dhaliwal said, asserting that the party would not bow to pressure from the BJP or central investigative agencies.
