New Delhi, September 3, 2026: A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in a corruption case linked to alleged irregularities in Delhi Jal Board tenders.
The case relates to alleged manipulation in the tendering process for sewage treatment plants (STPs). The Delhi Government’s Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) had arrested Jain in August, alleging irregularities in the tender process and claiming that certain technical conditions were designed to favour a particular private company.
Seeking bail, Jain had argued before the court that he had been cooperating with the investigation and that continued custody was not required.
The ACB opposed the plea, citing the ongoing investigation. After hearing arguments from both sides on August 25, the court had reserved its order for September 3. Jain’s bail now provides a legal relief to the senior AAP leader in the case.
