Teachers’ Day: Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan hails teachers as builders of nation’s future

Chandigarh, September 5, 2026: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan extended warm greetings to teachers across the country on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on Saturday, highlighting their vital role in shaping students into responsible and capable citizens.
In his message, Sandhwan said teachers illuminate the path of knowledge and play a deeply creative role in shaping the future of students. He emphasised that education holds immense importance in everyone’s life and that the contribution of teachers can never truly be repaid.
The Speaker said teachers guide students towards success, help them reach greater heights and take pride in seeing their students prosper.
Sandhwan also paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India and renowned educationist, whose contributions to the country’s education system are commemorated on Teachers’ Day.
He extended special greetings to teachers who were honoured with state and national awards for their exemplary service.
Highlighting the Punjab Government’s efforts to strengthen public education, Sandhwan said special international exposure visits have been organised for teachers. These visits provide educators an opportunity to study advanced education systems around the world and adopt effective practices in Punjab’s schools.
Reiterating the state’s vision for education, Sandhwan said every child deserves access to quality education so that they can grow into capable, responsible and ethical citizens who contribute to the progress of the nation.
