60 faculty members and research scholars join 3-day workshop on IBM SPSS, AI at SBSSU
Ferozepur, September 10, 2026: A three-day workshop on IBM SPSS Statistical Software was organized, at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University (SBSSU), for faculty members and research scholars, aimed at enhancing their statistical, analytical and research skills. Around 60 faculty members and research scholars participated actively in the workshop conducted by Prof. Suresh Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, SBSSU.
The workshop covered a range of contemporary statistical and data-analysis techniques, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), predictive modelling through regression techniques, correlation and regression analysis, and parametric statistical tests.
Participants received hands-on exposure to IBM SPSS for data analysis, statistical modelling, prediction and interpretation of research findings. Special emphasis was placed on integrating modern statistical and AI/ML techniques into academic research and evidence-based decision-making.
Prof. Suresh Sharma said the workshop was aimed at strengthening research capacity and equipping faculty members and scholars with practical skills in advanced statistical analysis and emerging technologies.
Prof. Sharma, a renowned scientist in the field of Biostatistics, has extensive expertise in statistical analysis, AI/ML, statistical modelling and research methodology. He has conducted more than 600 workshops at over 150 universities, institutions and colleges in India and abroad, benefiting thousands of faculty members, researchers and students.
The workshop reflected SBSSU's continued focus on academic excellence, research capacity building and skill development.
