Baba Bulleh Shah’s message of love and brotherhood still relevant today: Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy
MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy plays tributes at 57th Baba Bulleh Shah Cultural Memorial

Jalalabad, September 12, 2026: Jalalabad MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy attended the 57th cultural memorial fair dedicated to the sacred memory of Baba Bulleh Shah at Kandhwala Hazar Khan village and paid floral tributes to the revered Sufi poet.
MLA offered prayers for the progress, prosperity, peace and communal harmony of the Jalalabad constituency. He said the teachings and philosophy of Baba Bulleh Shah continued to guide society towards love, togetherness and mutual respect.
Kamboj said Baba Bulleh Shah was not only one of the great poets of Punjab’s Sufi tradition, but his poetry carried a universal message of humanity. At a time when society needed to stay away from divisive tendencies, his philosophy showed the path of bringing people together, he added.
He said Punjab was the sacred land of Sufi saints, Gurus and Pirs who had always placed humanity above all differences. Such cultural fairs not only preserve the rich heritage of Punjab but also help connect the younger generation with its roots and Punjabi culture.
MLA interacted with a large number of residents attending the fair and listened to their views and concerns. He said maintaining direct contact with people and working towards resolving their problems remained an important responsibility.
Appreciating the fair organising committee and residents of Kandhwala Hazar Khan for making elaborate arrangements, Kamboj said the event had been organised for years with devotion, hard work and a spirit of collective participation.
He further said that around ₹5.35 crore had so far been spent on various development works in Gram Panchayat Kandhwala Hazar Khan.
On the occasion, Kamboj contributed ₹31,000 towards the arrangements and cultural activities of the fair. He said every possible support would be extended to promote Punjab’s rich cultural heritage and traditional fairs.
He said such fairs were not merely occasions for entertainment but important platforms for strengthening the shared heritage, culture and social unity of the people. Adopting Baba Bulleh Shah’s philosophy in one’s life, he said, would be the true tribute to the great Sufi poet.
He prayed that the light of Baba Bulleh Shah’s message would reach every heart, love and brotherhood would become stronger in Jalalabad, and the constituency would continue to prosper in every sphere.
