Breaking: Punjab BJP to hold four Anti-Drug Yatras over 13 days, says Kewal Singh Dhillon

Chandigarh, September 14, 2026: Punjab BJP president Kewal Dhillon on Monday said the party will organise four yatras against drugs across Punjab, with the campaign scheduled to continue for 13 days and conclude on September 30.
Dhillon said the yatras will cover different parts of Punjab and focus on raising awareness about the state’s growing drug problem. The campaign will be launched by BJP Punjab in-charge Nitin Nabin, while Union ministers are also expected to participate during the programme.
“There are many issues in Punjab, but drugs have emerged as a major issue. We will reach every part of Punjab and work on how young people can be helped to come out of addiction,” Dhillon said.
He also said the Punjab Police should ensure security and remain with the BJP during the yatras.
On the power situation in Punjab, Dhillon criticised the state government over the ongoing power cuts. Referring to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s earlier assurances regarding coal availability, he said the current situation was now “in front of everyone” and claimed that the state’s power situation had deteriorated.
Commenting on the law-and-order situation, Dhillon linked incidents including blasts and extortion to the drug problem in the state.
On the issue of Sikh history, he said Punjab should have its own history reflected appropriately in the state.
Reacting to Congress leader Sachin Pilot’s role in Punjab politics, Dhillon said the developments were essentially a “fight for the chair” and that the arrival of any individual would not make much difference.
