Raja Warring asks CM Mann to evict illegal occupants from Punjab Ministerial houses

Chandigarh, September 26, 2026: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Saturday urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to get ministerial houses in Chandigarh vacated from people he alleged were occupying them without authorisation.
Warring also demanded that those found occupying the houses without authorisation should be charged penal rent, citing similar action taken in earlier cases.
Questioning the allocation of government accommodation to people who, according to him, are not entitled to it, Warring asked why Punjab ministers were being kept away from houses allotted to them while people from outside the state were allegedly occupying them.
He specifically questioned the reported allotment of a ministerial house to AAP leader Gayatri Bishnoi and her parents, asking under what rules the accommodation had been provided. Warring said that even if the house had been allotted in connection with her father’s medical treatment, the government should explain whether similar accommodation was available to other patients and families coming to Chandigarh from Punjab.
Warring alleged that several government houses were being occupied by AAP leaders, associates or their teams. He listed houses including 902, 925, 919, 926, 927, 928, 931, 963, 961, 964 and 965, claiming that some were occupied without proper authorisation. He also alleged that Kapurthala House and Nabha House in New Delhi, as well as circuit houses, were being misused.
The Congress leader also criticised the alleged use of government resources for political purposes. Referring to former AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, Warring alleged that House No. 50 in Chandigarh and accommodation at Punjab Bhawan in New Delhi had been allotted to him. He also alleged that Punjab Police personnel and vehicles were deployed in Udaipur during Chadha’s wedding, calling it an expenditure of public money. Warring further alleged that rooms at Punjab Bhawan had been used to accommodate AAP leaders and workers from different states during political campaigns.
He also criticised the use of abusive language by Rajasthan AAP leader Gayatri Bishnoi, saying such remarks were unacceptable and accusing the Chief Minister of failing to take action.
Warring questioned Mann’s handling of the issue and alleged that the Chief Minister had surrendered his authority to AAP’s Delhi leadership.
