“Mehta Di Pukar, Milawat Nu Inkaar” Campaign Holds Three Consecutive Milk Purity Testing Camps
124 Milk Samples Tested in Three Days, 110 Found Below Standards

Patiala, October 2, 2026: Under the “Mehta Di Pukar, Milawat Nu Inkaar” campaign, three consecutive milk purity testing camps were organised by Chairman of the District Planning Committee Tejinder Mehta, with the support of the Dairy Development Department, in different areas of Patiala. During these camps, people brought milk samples from their homes and got them tested on the spot. A total of 124 samples were tested over three days, out of which 14 samples were found to be as per standards and 110 samples were found below standards.
At the camp organised on September 28 at Shiv Mandir, Sarowala Mohalla, Triveni Chowk, a total of 51 milk samples were tested. Of these, 8 samples were found to be as per standards and 43 samples were found below standards. The samples found below standards contained 10 to 40 per cent water, while one sample was found to contain sucrose chemical. At the camp organised on September 29 at Jeenagar Dharamshala, located at Top Khana Mor, 35 milk samples were tested. Of these, 4 samples were found to be as per standards and 31 samples were found below standards. The samples found below standards contained 10 to 57 per cent water. At the camp organised on September 30 at Tavakli Mor, 38 samples were tested. Of these, 2 samples were found to be as per standards and 36 samples were found below standards. These samples also contained 10 to 57 per cent water.
Chairman Tejinder Mehta said that milk is an important part of the daily diet of every family and it is essential for consumers to be aware of its quality. He said that the objective of the “Mehta Di Pukar, Milawat Nu Inkaar” campaign is to create awareness among people about the quality and purity of milk. He said that along with launching a campaign, its continuous follow-up is also necessary, and under this initiative, milk purity testing camps are being organised continuously in different areas of Patiala.
Deputy Director Dairy Development Patiala Dalbir Kumar said that during these camps, consumers were provided information about the quality of milk on the spot. He said that out of the 124 samples tested during the three days, 110 samples were found below standards. He said that the objective of the camps is to create awareness among consumers about milk quality and provide them with a facility to get their milk tested.
During the camps, Dairy Development Inspectors Kulwinder Singh, Lakhmir Singh and Inspector Madam Upinderjit Kaur performed their duties efficiently. During the camps, District Chairman of the Aggarwal Welfare Board Trilok Jain, District Chairman of the Vairagi Welfare Board Jagdish Singh Bawa, Hindu leader Ravinder Singla, trader leader Sonam Bansal, Aam Aadmi Party District Social Media In-charge Sumeet Takeja, senior leader Gurnek Bhatti, Drug Federation’s Dharminder Sarao, Trade Commission member Nirmal Jhneri, youth leaders Surinder Nikku, Rahul Sethi, Gaurav Chhabra and other dignitaries were present. Under the campaign, efforts are being made to continue organising such milk purity testing camps in different areas of Patiala, so that more and more consumers can get their milk tested and become aware of milk quality.
