Breaking: Sri Akal Takht reschedules summoned AAP MLAs’ appearance
Kulwinder Singh
Amritsar (Punjab), October 14, 2026: Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj has rescheduled the appearance of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs and leaders summoned to explain their position in connection with the matter involving Payal MLA Manwinder Singh Giaspura of Ludhiana.
The summoned MLAs and leaders, who were earlier directed to appear in person at the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib at noon on October 15, have now been asked to appear at 11 am on October 16.
The schedule was changed following a call by the family of Parwinder Singh of Mansa, who was killed for raising his voice against drugs, for a Punjab bandh on October 15 to protest his murder.
Secretariat in-charge Bagicha Singh said a meeting of the scrutiny committee was also scheduled to be held at the Secretariat on October 15, with parties concerned in various cases asked to attend. However, following the directions of Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, the meeting has been postponed for the time being in view of the Punjab bandh call.
He said the parties concerned would be informed about the next date of the meeting.
