Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), October 18, 2026: The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) will operate 29 additional special buses from Chandigarh to various destinations in Himachal Pradesh on November 6 and 7 to facilitate passengers travelling home for Diwali.
The additional services have been planned to manage the expected festive rush and help people working, studying or doing business in Chandigarh and neighbouring areas reach their home districts.
Passengers wishing to travel on these special buses will have to book their tickets online through the HRTC’s official website. The corporation has advised travellers to reserve their seats in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
More buses if demand rises
HRTC will consider operating additional special buses on routes where all seats on the scheduled services are booked online. The decision will depend on passenger demand on individual routes.
The additional services are expected to provide relief to passengers travelling from Chandigarh to different parts of Himachal Pradesh as demand for public transport typically rises during the festive season.
