Mansa (Punjab), October 30, 2026: The family of slain anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota has been provided security by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) amid concerns over a possible security threat.
The security arrangement comes as the family and members of the action committee continue their protest demanding justice for Jhota, who was murdered 18 days ago.
Meanwhile, Jhota’s body remains at the Civil Hospital in Mansa, with the postmortem examination yet to be conducted. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also sought permission for the postmortem to be conducted at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
However, the action committee formed to seek justice for Jhota and his family has not agreed to the proposed postmortem arrangement so far.
