Ability to produce children is decreasing in Punjabis........by Dr Amandeep Aggarwal
Drugs, pollution and chemical-rich food are responsible
The increasing rate of infertility in Punjab can be gauged from the booming business of IVF centers in Punjab. The ability to produce children in Punjabis is decreasing day by day. If this situation continues, most of the third generation couples will be deprived of their heirs. The manhood of Punjabis is also in danger due to the decreasing sperm count day by day.
According to experts, this problem started after the 50s and today the World Health Organization has also expressed its concern on its increasing level. Earlier where in 2-3 villages a couple was childless, now in every village of the state 5 to 10 families will be found without a child. The direct reason for this is the poison dissolving in the environment.
What are the reasons?
In addition to industrial and agricultural use chemicals, fertilizers, urea, increasing intoxication, alcohol, cigarette, tobacco use, stress, mobile phone towers have also been added to its causes.
What are the other dangers?
Due to the weakening of the physical immune system, non-communicable diseases are increasing, in which heart disease, cancer, viral hepatitis, blood pressure, brain diseases have increased. At the same time, there has been an increase of 25 percent in the cases of cancer due to the outbreak of infection.
Today 3 out of 10 married couples suffer from the problem of infertility. Sperm levels drop to 15 to 30 million in 30 percent of people. Which is not enough to produce children. In case of blocked tubes, TB in 60 percent is being found.
This level is being found more in patients coming from Himachal. This problem has increased due to the deficiencies found in the diet, use of drugs and sluggish life style.
Apart from allopathy, people are also getting attracted towards Ayurveda system of medicine. But this problem can be changed by making extensive changes in lifestyle, environment and diet. This is the reason that people are seen looking for the medicines for improving male sexual performance from the market.
Initiative should be at improving over all personality, only then the solution of the problem is possible. If all was well then 90 percent of the people who are taking medicine for improving male sexual performance from quacks, experts or the market themselves are taking it; they wouldn’t even need it.
Apart from industrial pollution, fertilizers and chemicals used in agriculture, toxic elements such as cadmium, arsenic, uranium, nitrate (urea) etc. are also its factors- which are reaching our body through food and water.
Decreasing sperm count makes it difficult for a man in his 50s to have a child. Those whose investigations are coming to the fore today, its effect on them started 25 years ago. What will happen when the children of today's generation are examined after 25 years? Then in the third generation there will be no power to produce children.
This has also made a difference in the stature of the Punjabis. In the 50s, the sperm count in men used to be up to 150 million, now it has come down to a maximum of 50 million. Having a baby with a sperm count of less than 45 million increases the risk. Active sperm count is decreasing in men. Abnormal sperm count is increasing.
This will increase the birth rate of malformed children. Infertility in women has increased due to low sperm count and increasing levels of poison in the diet. In men, after 40 years, the signs of masculinity are decreasing in 50 percent of the people. The level of infectious diseases among women has increased. In the case of clogged tubes, most patients have TB. is being found.
How will the rescue happen?
· Farming methods have to change.
· Strict measures have to be taken to check industrial pollution.
· Minimize use of plastic /polythene
· Adopt a healthy lifestyle.
