Chandigarh: India will hold its biggest-ever quinquennial festival from April 19. This 47-day festival to be held across the length and breadth of the country will feature nearly 1000 million participants, including 18.4 million who belong to the 18-19 years age group.
While there are nations that have less than hundred thousand people eligible to exercise the franchise, the number of participants who have crossed the age of 100 years in India’s this biggest festival of democracy is 2, 18, 442.The number of senior citizens above the age of 85 years to participate in this quinquennial festival will be 81, 87, 999. Numbers are amazing.
The first phase of the festival will start on April 19, and it will gravel to the Union Capital – Delhi and Haryana on May 25 before it moves to its final phase and covers Punjab, Himachal, and Chandigarh on June 1.
While the number of participants in various contests – direct, triangular, quadrangular, or multi-cornered – are expected to run in hundreds, the results will be made public on June 4.
All the new successful actors and actresses and third genders, if any, will take their seats in the theatre of lower House of Parliament thereafter.

The new theatre that will come to be known as 18th Lok Sabha will have 543 elected actors and actresses, both old and new players. Of them 412 will be from general category and 84 from Scheduled Castes. The remaining 47 will represent Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Now when the dates of the quinquennial festival have been announced, players and their companies, are prohibited from making any announcements, promises or concessions to the audience as a whole or parts thereof.
There will be monitoring authority called Election Commission of India that is Constitutionally empowered to ensure that the festival is held in a free, fair, and legal manner with no players or a group making misuse of the system to incline the festival as a whole or its parts in its favour.
Battle lines have been drawn. Contestants will be permitted to make use of their resources as prescribed in the rules back and those violating the rules can be pulled up, fined, or even disqualified from this biggest festival of democracy of the universe.
