Moga: Partial ban imposed on Pregabalin 300 MG capsules

Moga (Punjab), March 8 – In a significant move to control the misuse of high-dose medical drugs, Additional District Magistrate-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner of Moga, Charumita, has imposed a partial ban on the sale of Pregabalin 300 MG (Signature) capsules across Moga district.
The decision was taken under the powers granted by Section 163 of the Indian National Security Act (BNSS) 2023.Mrs. Charumita noted that the rising misuse of Pregabalin 300 MG in both urban and rural areas has prompted this step, as the drug is being consumed by the general public without proper medical supervision.
The capsules are currently available freely in many medical stores without strict regulation.
Under the new guidelines:
This partial ban will remain in force in Moga district until June 6, 2025. Violations of these orders will invite action under Section 223 of the BNSS 2023.
The administration has urged both healthcare professionals and chemists to exercise caution and cooperate in implementing these preventive measures to ensure responsible use of this medication.
