Parents Sacrifice, Politicians Must Not Exploit Students: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan
Ludhiana, 23 July 2026: National BJP Leader and Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan, while addressing the media from Gurpreet Nagar, Daba, in the Ludhiana South Legislative Assembly Constituency, today strongly condemned what he described as attempts by certain self-styled leaders and anti-social elements to exploit students and their parents for political purposes. He expressed his appreciation to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, and the Central Government for their commitment to safeguarding India’s unity, constitutional order, and national security.
Grewal said that every child deserves classrooms, opportunities, and a secure future, not to become a tool in political campaigns. He stated that parents across India make extraordinary sacrifices for their children’s education, often working long hours, running small businesses, surviving on modest salaries, or taking loans from banks and other financial institutions to ensure that their children receive a quality education and a brighter future.
He said that it is deeply unfortunate if students are drawn into prolonged political agitations at the cost of their education, academic progress, and overall well-being. According to Grewal, those who encourage young minds to participate in political confrontations instead of focusing on education must reflect on the long-term consequences of their actions.
Grewal stated that any individual or organisation attempting to exploit students’ emotions or use parents’ concerns for political mileage is acting irresponsibly. He asserted that India’s youth should be empowered through education, innovation, skill development, and employment opportunities rather than becoming instruments of political confrontation.
Referring to the gathering at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, Grewal alleged that certain self-styled leaders are attempting to use students and their families to advance their own political interests. He further alleged that such activities are intended to create public unrest and unnecessary confrontation instead of contributing constructively to national development.
He said that if any anti-national elements or organisations, whether operating from within India or abroad, attempt to interfere in India’s internal affairs or exploit public movements with the support of unlawful foreign influence, the country’s law enforcement and security agencies should investigate such activities strictly in accordance with the law.
Grewal stated that millions of Indian parents earn their livelihoods through honest labour, small businesses, agriculture, professional services, and government employment. Many families bear the burden of education loans and other financial commitments solely to provide a brighter future for their children. He said that no political objective can justify placing that future at risk.
Expressing confidence in the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, Grewal said that the Government of India remains firmly committed to maintaining law and order, protecting national unity, and ensuring that the interests of students and the nation’s future remain above partisan politics.
Grewal appealed to students to remain focused on their education and encouraged parents to guide their children towards academic excellence, constructive nation-building, and responsible democratic participation. He urged all political parties to keep students away from political confrontation and to resolve their differences through democratic dialogue and constitutional means.
