ANTF busts drone smuggling from Pakistan; 3 held with 2.393 kg heroin
Ferozepur, July 8, 2025: In a major crackdown on cross-border drug smuggling, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in Ferozepur arrested three individuals with a total of 2.393 kg heroin.
AIG Sohan Lal Soni of ANTF revealed that the arrests were made following a tip-off regarding drug smugglers who were involved in trafficking heroin from Pakistan using drones. The arrests were carried out two days after the heroin consignment was delivered via drone.
The accused, Manjinder Singh, a resident of Sardar Din Wala village, Ferozepur district, was apprehended with 302 grams of heroin. In another operation, Gurpreet Singh and Harpreet Singh, both residents of Basti Sookna Peer Ismail Khan, Ferozepur district, were caught with 2.091 kg heroin.
According to officials, the trio had recently entered the drug trafficking network around five months ago. They established contact with Pakistani smugglers and used drones to receive heroin consignments during night hours. Acting on intelligence inputs, ANTF kept a close watch on their activities and apprehended them red-handed with heroin.
AIG Soni added that none of the accused had prior criminal records. Their ages range between 24 and 25 years, and they were new to the drug trade. Further investigations are underway.
