Breaking: Schools to hold online classes amid waterlogging risk

Gurugram (Haryana), August 24, 2026: In view of the prevailing weather conditions and the risk of waterlogging-related traffic congestion, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Gurugram, has advised all government and private schools and educational institutions in the district to conduct classes online on August 25.
The revised advisory was issued by the District Magistrate-cum-Chairperson of the DDMA on August 24, partially modifying an earlier advisory issued the same day.
The administration said the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the prevailing weather conditions and to avoid traffic congestion that could result from waterlogging.
The advisory applies to all government and private schools and educational institutions in Gurugram district.
The DDMA also clarified that its earlier advisory regarding work from home for employees of corporate and private offices will continue to remain in force.
The District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), Gurugram, has been asked to ensure wide publicity of the advisory through newspapers and other platforms. The District Education Officer (DEO) and District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) have also been directed to communicate the instructions to government and private educational institutions.
The administration has urged institutions and concerned stakeholders to follow the revised advisory in view of the weather-related risks.
