Chandigarh Revises Taxi, Auto, and Bike Taxi Fares; New Rates Effective Immediately

Chandigarh, July 7, 2025: The Chandigarh Administration has revised the fare structure for taxis, auto-rickshaws, and bike taxis operating in the Union Territory. The new rates have been notified by the Transport Department and will be effective from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
As per the latest notification issued under the authority of the Administrator, Union Territory of Chandigarh, the revised fares are as follows:

AC/Non-AC Taxi (4+1 seater or below): ₹90 for the first 3 km and ₹25 per km thereafter.

AC/Non-AC Taxi (6+1 seater or above): ₹100 for the first 3 km and ₹28 per km thereafter.

Ordinary Auto (including e-Auto/e-Rickshaw): ₹50 for the first 3 km and ₹13 per km thereafter.

Bike Taxi: ₹30 for the first 3 km and ₹9 per km thereafter.
This notification supersedes the earlier fare order issued on March 31, 2022. The changes have been made under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, with an aim to regulate transport fares in the city effectively.
The directions have been issued to the State Transport Authority, UT Chandigarh, for immediate implementation.
