DSCW students visit Harmony Ayurvedic College for Educational Tour
Ferozepur: Students of Dev Samaj College for Women (DSCW) visited Harmony Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital for an educational tour aimed at enhancing their understanding of traditional Indian healthcare practices. The institution is a prominent centre for Ayurvedic education and treatment in the Ferozepur region, integrating classical Ayurvedic principles with modern medical facilities.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Chairman D.P. Bansal and Director Yogesh Bansal. Principal Dr. Suman Lata warmly welcomed the students and highlighted the ancient roots, scientific foundation, and growing global acceptance of Ayurveda in contemporary healthcare.
During the visit, Dr. Alka (BAMS, MD-Ayu), an expert from the Panchakarma Department, provided detailed insights into the core Panchakarma therapies — Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana — explaining their principles, procedures, and therapeutic significance. The students were also given a live demonstration and guided tour of the Panchakarma unit, offering them valuable practical exposure.
An awareness lecture on Ayurvedic Cosmetology was delivered by Dr. Sahil Guleria (BAMS, MD-Ayu). He explained that Ayurvedic cosmetology goes beyond superficial beauty enhancement and focuses on balancing internal body doshas, maintaining skin health, and achieving long-term natural radiance through herbal medicines and side-effect-free therapies.
At the conclusion of the visit, the students described the tour as informative and inspiring, expressing gratitude to the institution for providing comprehensive knowledge and practical insights into Ayurveda.
