Ferozepur students lead Paper Bag Day with eco-friendly actions
Ferozepur, July 12, 2025: To mark World Paper Bag Day, the DCM Group of Schools organized special awareness programs across all its institutions. Students actively spread the message against the use of plastic bags by distributing paper and cloth bags at markets, vegetable mandis, and busy intersections. They also carried out tree plantation drives, promoting the message of environmental protection.
Principals Yachna Chawla (DC Model Sr. Sec. School), Anuradha Chandel (DCM International School), and Ruchi Pandey (Das and Brown World School) shared that their schools observed World Paper Bag Day with NCC-led paper bag making, anti-plastic rallies, eco-awareness campaigns, and tree plantations, all promoting the message of “Say Bye to Plastic” and “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.”
At DC Model Senior Secondary School, Principal Yachna Chawla shared that an NCC-led paper bag making activity was conducted. A special morning assembly highlighted the harmful impact of plastic and encouraged the use of eco-friendly alternatives like paper and cloth bags.
DCM International School Principal Anuradha Chandel stated that students held a vibrant rally on Kacha Jeera Road with colorful slogans and banners advocating for a plastic-free India. Students distributed self-made paper bags to shopkeepers while pledging to raise awareness in their homes and neighborhoods. Students Disha, Sukhpreet, Aman, Prabhjot, Japleen, RV, Mohit, Nimrat, and Srishti all took part enthusiastically.
At Das and Brown World School, Principal Ruchi Pandey said NCC cadets conducted creative activities under the theme "Say Bye to Plastic." Alongside making paper bags and reusing plastic waste to craft useful items, cadets also participated in the "A Tree in Mother’s Name" campaign. Cadets Shawn Solomon, Sumit, Prabhjot, Ridhim, and Japjot Kaur emphasized the message of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and urged people to carry reusable bags to avoid plastic use entirely.
