Ferozepur, March 1, 2025: As part of the Financial Literacy Week (February 24-28, 2025) launched by the Reserve Bank of India, a special camp was organized in Ferozepur district to promote financial awareness among women. The camp aimed to make women aware about banking services, government welfare schemes and personal financial management.
Around 150 women from self-help groups participated in the session organized at RSETI, Zira. The event was attended by Lead District Officer Sudhir Sidhu, Chief Lead District Manager Geeta Mehta, DPM NRLM Maninder Singh, CFL officers and FLC staff members.
The main objective of the camp was to empower women and students with knowledge of savings schemes, pension schemes, insurance policies and social security programmes, thereby encouraging them to become self-reliant. A special poster with the theme “Financial Wisdom, Happy Women” was released during the event.
To engage the participants, a financial quiz was conducted, in which the winners were given prizes as a token of encouragement. Addressing the gathering, Sudhir Sidhu urged women to take advantage of government schemes and manage their financial resources effectively.
Practical training on digital banking and financial transactions was also provided, enabling women to navigate banking services with confidence. The officials stressed that financial literacy not only makes women financially strong but also brings about positive changes in their families and society.
