Shimla (HP), July 1, 2025: Torrential monsoon rains have once again plunged parts of Himachal Pradesh into chaos, triggering flash floods and landslides across multiple districts.
Overflowing rivers and crumbling hillsides have placed the administration on high alert, with emergency teams scrambling to respond to the rapidly evolving situation.
DGP Orders Immediate Rescue Ops: “Every Second Counts”
In view of the worsening conditions, Director General of Police (DGP) has issued strict instructions to all districts to initiate rescue and relief operations without delay.
Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been placed on high alert, while coordinated efforts are underway with NDRF teams and local administration to evacuate residents from vulnerable areas to safer zones.
Focus on Relief Camps & Traffic Management
Authorities have been directed to ensure that relief camps are fully functional and equipped with essential supplies.
Meanwhile, police deployment on key roads has been increased to manage congestion and prevent traffic blockages. Surveillance is being intensified on highways and at known landslide-prone zones.
DGP Warns Against Fake News: “Strict Action Under IT Act”
The DGP has issued a stern warning against the spread of rumors or misinformation through social media, which could trigger panic among the public.
“Strict legal action will be taken under the Information Technology Act against those circulating unverified or fear-mongering content,” said the police.

Himachal Police has released an urgent advisory for citizens:
- Avoid non-essential travel during this period.
