Key accused in Sidhu Moosewala case absconds again
NIA, Police on High Alert

Chandigarh, July 12, 2025: A major development has emerged in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, as Shahbaz Ansari, the prime accused in the illegal arms supply network, has once again gone missing after being released on interim bail.
His disappearance has triggered a state of alert within both the Punjab Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
According to sources, Ansari's mobile phone is switched off and his location cannot be traced — adding to the concerns of law enforcement agencies.
Reports indicate that last month, Ansari secured interim bail on humanitarian grounds, citing his wife’s urgent surgery. However, he failed to return within the stipulated time, and now both he and his wife are untraceable.
This isn’t the first time Ansari has used this tactic. In 2023, he had taken interim bail from Delhi’s Patiala House Court, claiming his wife was pregnant — but never returned to custody. In both instances, fake addresses were provided in court.
