Prashant Kishor joins as Principal Advisor to Amarinder Singh
Chandigarh, March 1, 2021 : Prashant Kishor has joined as Prinicpal Advisor with Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, CM himself made this disclosure in a tweet. He said that he was happy to share that Prashant Kishore has joined me as my Principal Advisor. Look forward to working together for the betterment of the people of Punjab!
Kishor worked as an election strategist for BJP, INC, AAP, AITC , YSRCP and DMK. For first time he helped Narendra Modi, who was then Chief Minister of Gujarat get re-elected to the CM Office for a third time in the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2012. He again helped Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Personal life and career
Kishor belongs to Konar village of Rohtas district but his father Shrikant Pandey, a doctor, shifted to Buxar in Bihar. There, Kishor completed his secondary education.[9][6]
In 2013, Kishor created Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG), a media and publicity company in preparation for the May 2014 general election of India and later converted it into I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee.)
In 2015 he helped Nitish Kumar in Bihar Assembly elections and he secured third term as Chief Ministers. Nitish Kumar appointed Kishore as his advisor for planning and programme implementation.
He managed campaign of Congress party in 2017 state elections and Capt. Amarinder Singh become CM for second time.
His major loss was in UP state elections in 2017. He worked for Congress but both Congress and he lost elections and BJP emerged winner with a clean sweep.
Later he succeed in Andhra Pradesh Elections in 2019 when he advised YS Jaganmohan Reddy won the elections. He again tasted success in 2020 Delhi Elections in which he advised Aam Admi Party which won 62 out of 70 seats.
