Chandigarh, March 13, 2024: In a cost-cutting move, the Punjab government has decided to extend the usage limit of official vehicles assigned to ministers and MLAs.
Previously, government vehicles were replaced after clocking 3 lakh kilometers, but under the new decision, they will now be used for up to 4 lakh kilometers before being replaced.
The move is aimed at reducing government expenditure and optimizing resources, ensuring that taxpayer money is used efficiently.By increasing the mileage limit, the state government expects significant savings in vehicle procurement and maintenance costs.
This decision aligns with Punjab’s ongoing efforts to implement fiscal discipline while ensuring that official transport remains functional and cost-effective.
