Punjab weather to stay dry till April 15; Temperatures set to rise

Chandigarh, April 11, 2026:Following recent showers across Punjab and Chandigarh, temperatures have started climbing again, though mornings and evenings continue to remain relatively cool.
According to the India Meteorological Department, weather conditions on April 11 will remain dry across the region. However, cool winds blowing in from the hills are expected during the day, even as daytime temperatures rise steadily.
The mercury has already recorded an increase of around 2°C compared to the previous day, though it still remains about 2.4°C below the seasonal average. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 33.2°C in Faridkot.
The Met Department has indicated that no rainfall is expected across Punjab until April 16. During this period, maximum temperatures in districts including Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr) are likely to hover between 28°C and 30°C.
