Qatar Airways resumes daily flights from Amritsar after March halt

Amritsar (Punjab), May 2, 2026: In a major relief for international travellers from Punjab, Qatar Airways has restarted its daily flight operations from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport after a temporary suspension earlier this year.
The airline had reduced its services to two flights a week and later suspended operations in early March due to airspace disruptions amid the Iran-Israel conflict. With the situation stabilising, the carrier has now restored its regular schedule from the last week of April.
As per the current timetable, flights from Doha arrive in Amritsar around 2:30 am, while return departures are scheduled at approximately 3:30 pm. The service is crucial for passengers from Punjab travelling to destinations such as the United States, Canada, and Europe via Doha.
In a parallel development, Air India Express has also resumed daily flights between Amritsar and Sharjah, easing travel for those heading to Gulf countries. However, IndiGo has yet to restart its Sharjah operations from Amritsar, and some Dubai-bound services remain impacted.
Adding further relief, Qatar Airways has allowed passengers booked for travel until October to change their travel dates without any change fee, although fare differences may apply.
