Railway holds 6th Inter-Departmental T-20 Cricket League
Ferozepur, November 1, 2025: The sixth Inter-Departmental T-20 Cricket League Tournament began in the Ferozepur Division on November 1 and will continue till November 30, 2025. A total of 12 teams representing various railway departments are participating in the month-long tournament, with both officers and subordinate staff competing together.
The tournament aims to promote physical fitness, mutual coordination, and team spirit among railway employees. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Sanjeev Kumar at the Railway Ground, Ferozepur. The inaugural match was played between the Electrical and Commercial Departments.
Winning the toss, the Electrical Department elected to bat first and scored 97 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In response, the Commercial Department was bowled out for 75 runs, giving the Electrical team a 22-run victory. Sanjeev Pushkar from the Electrical Department was declared Man of the Match for his impressive bowling performance, taking four wickets.
The 12 participating teams have been divided into four groups, and all matches will be played on Saturdays and Sundays. The grand finale is scheduled for November 30. The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Senior Divisional Sports Officer Rahul Dev.
Speaking on the occasion, DRM Sanjeev Kumar emphasized the importance of fitness, stating, “A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. In today’s fast-paced and stressful life, maintaining good health is essential. For railway employees, this becomes even more significant as they are directly or indirectly responsible for passenger safety. Everyone should remain conscious of their fitness and take care of their health.”
