Sixth Round of Talks Between Union Government and Farmers Begins; MSP and Other Issues are being Discussed
Chandigarh, February 22, 2025: The sixth round of talks between the Central government and farmers, who have been protesting for a legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) and other demands, began today in Chandigarh. The crucial meeting saw the participation of Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Prahlad Joshi, and Piyush Goyal representing the Central government. From the Punjab government, Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, and Lal Chand Kataruchakk were present.
Farmer Representatives Arrive for Talks, Dallewal arrives in Ambulance
The farmer delegation has also arrived in Chandigarh for the meeting. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is participating in the talks, arrived in an ambulance. Meanwhile, farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohad stated that farmers remain firm on their demand for a 100% MSP law and will discuss all issues in detail with the Central government.
So far, several rounds of talks have taken place between the Central government and farmers, but no resolution has been reached. It remains to be seen whether this meeting will yield any concrete results.
